Well done to the Under 8 B1 team on their first foray to foreign shores. I'm sure that all will agree that 2 match victories and a total goal tally of 5 is mighty impressive. The weekends action got off to a shaky start with 2 defeats on Saturday followed by another 2 on Sunday morning. But after all the players had been fed and watered on Sunday afternoon, the team showed what they're made of with some excellent play which led to two straight victories. Unfortunately, a third win wasn't to be but it certainly wasn't down to the lack of effort from Clonee's finest.
Kids and adults alike had great time, and although the Wavecrest hotel wasn't exactly the Ritz, they provided a mighty fine deep fried breakfast! (If anyone's heading to Blackpool in the near future, I think Mandy may have a few sausages left over).
And thanks to Paul and Mick for all their efforts in organising a great weekend away and for all the time and effort they put into making sure our kids enjoy their football. So roll on Saturday, and away to Mid-Sutton FC. Let's hope the lads can keep the momentum up and keep closing the gap at the top of the table.
